For more than 25 years Michael Curran and Drake Insurance Agency has been helping people make smart insurance decisions.
Curran, opened his office in Devon because of the great location and wonderful community. The response from the community has been great. “I started out with nothing. My first customer walked in the door and he’s still our customer today,” Curran said.
Each of our brokers bring their own personal touch to Drake customers for their insurance needs from homes, farms, cars, boats, quads snow mobiles, commercial property and liability.
Partner, Alice Johnston says that the brokers are well-informed and educated on finding the best insurance to fit your needs. “We maintain, as well as going over and above the required continuing education hours; we make sure we are in the know. We also make house calls to those who cannot come to us; I believe the level of service we provide is exceptional.”
Curran agrees. “We have local, competent and trusted advisors.”
Since opening in 1985, Drake has grown from one to four insurance brokers. “This is the best team that we’ve ever had,” Johnston said.
As a member of the Devon and District Chamber of Commerce, the company is engaged with the community by participating as a corporate team in the annual Devon Trade Fair, entering a float in the Devon Days parade, and providing education at John Maland High School as to how to purchase a first insurance policy.
Johnston has worked in the past with the John Maland High School Career and Life Management class to talk with them about insurance.
Since being in the same community for over 25 years, Curran is seeing younger members of his clients’ families looking to them for their insurance needs.
“Lots of kids of the people we started out with are starting their families and are our clients now.”
Curran has enjoyed working with the residents in Devon. “Thank you for the wonderful support over the last 25 years.”
To better meet the needs of their customers, Drake is open 5 days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and Saturdays by appointment only.
